WEDDING WEBSITE – What to include and how helpful it can be.

You don’t need to have a wedding website, however, it is very helpful and adds to the overall experience.

Weddings can be stressful for guests as well, not just for the bride and groom. Having a wedding website enables you to gather all the information in one place, and you can update it at any time to provide more detailed information for your guests

Wedding Website, what to include on your wedding website and how helpful can it be.

A wedding website is the best place to include all of your wedding program, events, additional activities, and recommendations for your guests. It is crucial to help your guests in getting organized and prepared for what is to come on the big day.

As a bonus, it’s also the best place to include your wedding registry (I suggest not including the URL to your wedding registry on your wedding invitation suite, on a separate card) and if guests have any questions they can use the platform to clear them up.

When creating your website make sure that:

  • The website aesthetic matches the vibe of your wedding.
  • You add music for when guests visit (this gives an extra touch to the online experience and keeps your guests excited) – optional.
  • You create a Q&A option so guests can ask any questions they might have and receive answers to those questions.
  • You set up a page where guests can send/write personalized messages about how they are feeling and what they are expecting from the big day.
  • The website is clear and user-friendly.
  • You give detailed attire guidelines for each event.
  • You offer information on weather conditions.
  • You include a link to your wedding registry.
  • You offer registration for an email informing them when the site is uploaded.
  • You share your love story, your proposal story, or the story of how you met. Knowing about your story will get guests more excited about your wedding.
  • You provide a detailed itinerary.
  • You feature a photo of the happy couple. This photo will be the first thing people will see when they visit your site, and it leaves a big impression.
  • You include travel information: including flight and hotel details.
  • You add local transportation details, such as directions from the airport to the hotel, contact info for car rental agencies, etc. If you’ll have shuttles all weekend to transport guests, let them know.
  • You set up an RSVP page, giving guests the option to RSVP to the wedding or to specific activities. If you’re offering meal choices, some sites are set up to let your guests choose meal preferences.
  • You give directions to the wedding venue, reception, and any other events, along with maps.
  • You share your wedding hashtag, if you have one.

I would always recommend that you have a wedding website (it just removes that additional stress that might come up) and especially if you are planning on having a destination wedding.
